EXAMS

Hi friends.

First of all, I am greatly obliged to all those who showed an immense support to this blog by liking it’s fb page, thanks to all of them. This is a huge motivation for me and I will try to keep improving to give you better posts in future.

Different people say different things should be given priority in college. But one thing that is commonly said by everyone - don’t dare to mess with your academics, otherwise you will repent it later. For good academics, one need to perform decently in exams, so here I am writing my new blog entry about the most horrendous topic for any student of any college anywhere in the world-EXAMS!

I would like to start with a small description of the nature of exams at IITs. Just like any other college, exams of IIT consist of class tests, mid semester examinations, practical labs and end term examinations, but some professors may also give a little bit of weightage to attendance as well (most of us hate this. Why do they force us to attend their stupid boring classes?) Now coming to the environment during exam time, a feeling of tension is spread amongst all students. Studies are the priority and at their peak during complete exam time. Books which were earlier seen only in the shelves of rooms now occupy every corner of the room with group study and night-outs becoming quite frequent :P (All this happen because 1 week before the start of exams, most students realize that it is necessary to ‘study’ for decent performance in exams :P). Library become extremely crowded as students find it the best place to study for complete night.

In my opinion, students during exam time can be divided broadly in 4 categories:-
1.       Maggu: - These are generally the best performing students and are called ‘maggu’ (a common word used for very studious students). These students are the only set of punctual species left in college (believe me; it’s very difficult to remain punctual in college). Other students seek their help (such as photocopying of notes) as they are the only one who have already completed their studies when others are just about to begin!
2.       General: - These students start their study about 1 week before the start of exams. Most of these students end up having decent grades in their exams.
3.       Last-timers: - These students study just at the last moment which results in low grades for most of them. Some students even don’t know the syllabus till the last and have to ask their friends about the syllabus. Some even play games and watch movies one night before the exam!
4.       Talented: - These are the most interesting and mysterious students. Such students will always say to you that they haven’t studied anything or they are going to fail in exams but only God knows how they always land up much ahead of you! Even after the results, they would say all this as just a fluke or luck! (Why is my fluke or luck not this good?)

Well, that is all about my opinion on exams and students during exams. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Goodbye
